What is a fine art print?
Fine art printing refers to professional photographs being printed on very high-quality paper (archival paper) using archival ink (pigment inks). The choice of archival paper and ink provides a high permanence to the prints and longevity.
The printers used for fine art printing are high end machines usually with 8 or 12 ink colourants and therefore have a very large colour gamut. The papers used are acid-free papers that ensure, unlike non-archival papers, they do not become yellow, brittle and crack with time.
How do you ship prints?
We ship prints through Blue Dart or FEDEX depending on the destination.
Prints of sizes A4 or US Letter are packed inside covers shipped within a mailer box. Larger sizes are rolled with a sheet and packaged within circular tubes that are robust enough to withstand all transportation needs.
Do you ship with frames?
No. Frames and mattes are more a personal choice and shipping them would also attract significant charges. However, we can help assist with any queries or provide recommendations on frames.
Do these prints have white borders around them?
Yes. Each print is made with a wide paper border. This serves the following purposes:
- For the photographer to sign
- To provide space for framers to handle the print
- To ensure safety during transportation and handling
What type of print editions do you sell?
Currently we only sell 'OPEN EDITION' prints. These prints have no limit in their print quantities. The photographer's signature is reproduced beneath the image area and they are not hand-signed or numbered. These prints are produced on high quality cotton papers — like the Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308.
